From the first-ever Wimbledon eChamps to activations on platforms like Roblox and Fortnite, these innovative projects are designed to engage younger fans and redefine how they experience Wimbledon.
As Creative Lead, I work closely with our Digital Products team to support every stage of these initiatives, from ideation to execution, ensuring each activation captures Wimbledon’s unique spirit while driving fan engagement in fresh and exciting ways. By embracing digital innovation, we’re broadening Wimbledon’s reach and inspiring the next generation of tennis enthusiasts.
Wimbledon eChamps
In 2024, Wimbledon ventured into esports with the launch of the Wimbledon eChamps, Featuring the highly anticipated TopSpin 2K25, the tournament engaged fans in a bold new way, blending gaming with the prestige of The Championships.
Qualifiers across eight countries competed for a spot in the live finals held at Wimbledon’s Media Theatre, where the first-ever Wimbledon eChampion was crowned. The winner received a gold-plated PlayStation 5 and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Gentlemen’s Singles Final in 2025.
Working closely with BLAST, 2K, and our Digital Products team, I contributed to shaping the tournament’s creative execution and ensuring it reflected Wimbledon’s spirit of innovation while connecting with a new generation of fans.
Fortnite
In 2023, Wimbledon expanded its digital presence by launching "Race to Wimbledon" within Fortnite. This immersive experience invites players to navigate through iconic London landmarks—such as Big Ben and the London Eye—overcoming larger-than-life obstacles like giant strawberries and tennis rackets, all in a timed race to reach Wimbledon's Centre Court.
This initiative successfully introduced the excitement of The Championships to a younger, tech-savvy audience, bridging traditional sports with contemporary digital platforms.
Roblox
Launched in 2022 to celebrate the centenary of Centre Court, WimbleWorld on Roblox offers fans a unique way to connect with Wimbledon’s legacy in an immersive 3D environment. Developed in collaboration with The Gang, the experience allows players to step onto the virtual grass courts, compete in tennis matches, and explore the grounds of SW19.
Featuring exclusive Ralph Lauren apparel, collectible virtual rewards, and AI or multiplayer gameplay, WimbleWorld bridges Wimbledon's storied heritage with modern digital innovation, engaging younger audiences and introducing the magic of Wimbledon to a new generation of fans.
